Are you an experienced deputy manager ready to step into a temporary leadership role within a well‑established residential service?

We are recruiting for a Temporary Deputy Manager to support the leadership team at a 28‑bedded residential home in Derbyshire, specialising in the care of individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours. This is a fixed‑term contract of up to 12 months, covering long‑term sickness.

This role is ideal for someone who is confident leading teams, managing complex care environments, and delivering person‑centred, values‑led care.

The role

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to support the day‑to‑day running of the home, lead staff teams, and ensure care is delivered safely and to a high standard.

What you’ll be doing

• Support the Registered Manager 
• Lead and support staff teams, promoting best practice and positive culture
• Oversee care delivery for residents with complex needs and challenging behaviour
• Manage incidents and behaviours with calm, professional and trauma‑informed approaches
• Support staff through supervision, appraisals and on‑shift guidance
• Monitor residents’ progress, wellbeing and outcomes
• Liaise with healthcare professionals, families and external agencies
• Ensure high standards of safeguarding, quality and compliance

What you’ll need

• Experience working with Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Challenging Behaviour
• Previous experience in a senior, supervisory or leadership role within residential care
• Strong communication, leadership and teamwork skills
• A calm, resilient and compassionate approach
• A genuine commitment to supporting both residents and staff
