We’re recruiting a Part-Time Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) to support adults with complex mental health and rehabilitation needs within a specialist therapeutic setting.

This is an excellent opportunity for an SLT seeking a flexible, senior‑level role, working closely alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence‑based, person‑centred communication and dysphagia interventions.

The Role

You’ll hold responsibility for a defined caseload, providing specialist assessment and intervention for individuals with communication and/or swallowing needs. Working collaboratively with Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing and wider MDT colleagues, you’ll play a key role in supporting recovery, risk management, and quality of life outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose and manage speech, language, communication, cognitive‑communication and swallowing needs
  • Develop and review individualised, goal‑focused therapy plans
  • Provide specialist dysphagia assessment, management and risk guidance
  • Contribute SLT expertise to MDT discussions, care planning and discharge pathways
  • Maintain high‑quality clinical documentation and compliance with governance standards
  • Act as an advocate for individuals with communication needs

Essential Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Speech & Language Therapy
  • HCPC registration and RCSLT membership
  • Experience managing a caseload with communication and/or swallowing needs
  • Strong clinical reasoning and evidence‑based practice
  • Confident working autonomously and within an MDT

Desirable

  • Experience in rehabilitation, mental health, neurological or complex care settings
  • Postgraduate dysphagia training or AAC experience
  • Involvement in audit, governance or service development
